This session is intended to introduce a number of takeaways to an audience interested in Game Design concepts in Virtual Reality, using the journey of Earthlight and collaboration with NASA as the method of which to explain how we create gameplay mechanics from a complex subject matter like human spaceflight.

The session will cover the topics of user and player experience design, as well as the pipelines that we use to map physical experiences with Virtual Reality. The session will shift to a live exercise of distilling a specific type of interaction seen on a NASA-sourced video into gameplay user stories, similar to how we approach design during the production of Earthlight.

The session will also include videos and visual aid material from our NASA production trip, as well as assets (of both planning and production) used within the development of the game.
